Cik Sheila

Cik Sheila is one of the original advocators for branch colleges outside London, becoming one of the early founders of LCCH - Manchester. In 1982, she co-established Nottingham's Association of Medical and Experimental Hypnotherapists, running training programmes for psychologists and doctors from Basford Hospital. As a Behavioural Psychologist, Sheila worked within the Education Department and Social Services for ten years and was one of the founding members of a charity for children at risk. Her clinical speciality is to provide solution based therapy utilizing an eclectic approach. She has lectured and practised in both corporate and public sector and run a successful private practice.

Peter Mabbutt

Peter originally trained
in Psychopharmacology, he has spent over 20 years undertaking research
in the field of anxiety-based conditions and their treatment. As
well as being responsible for updating the LCCH course to incorporate
new techniques and research, Peter teaches a Special Studies Module
(SSM) in Clinical Hypnosis for the St. Bartholomews Hospital,
Royal London Hospital, and Queen Mary, University of London Medical
School. He is the Clinical Hypnotherapist for the Guys Hospital,
St. Thomas Hospital Health Education and Lifestyle Therapy
for Hypertension initiative. Peter is a founder Fellow of the British
Association of Medical Hypnosis.

Dr Anna
MD, Ph.D, MDCH, FBAMH
Medical Director
Dr Anna is a Doctor of Medicine who has trained at the USSR Academy of Sciences, Moscow. She received her Degree of Professor of Neuropsychology in 1984 after working as a research assistant with Prof. A.R. Luria at his Department of Neuropsychology and Psychiatry, Moscow. She has been practising as a consultant hypnotherapist for over fifteen years and now lectures for the LCCH on the neurophysiological aspects of hypnosis.

Avy Joseph
MSc, D.Hyp. (Dist.), FBSCH
Senior Lecturer, LCCH
Avy is a Fellow of the
British Society of Clinical Hypnosis, he graduated in 1988 with
a degree in mathematics, after which he qualified as a counsellor.
He trained with the LCCH and gained a diploma with distinction.
Avy has a masters degree in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy from
Goldsmith College, which he combines with hypnotherapy in his practice.
He is Director of Development and lectures extensively for the LCCH
nationally and internationally and presents a special study module
at St Georges Medical School, London. In addition, he manages
joint research projects for the LCCH and The Heart Hospital, London
and heads The Mary McCallum Scholarship Foundation.

Christa Mackinnon
MSc. (Psych), DFCouns., PDCHyp, FBSCH, FBAMH
Course Director (SW)
Christa is a Social Psychologist, Family Counsellor, Group facilitator, Hypnotherapist and Senior lecturer for the LCCH. She took her Masters degree in Psychology at Berlin University, where she also trained in Family Counselling and therapeutic work with groups. Christa lectures and trains internationally for different organisations on the effecs of trauma, abuse and PTSD. She serves as an expert witness for the CPS, is an Honorary Fellow and lecturer in Special Study Units at Peninsula Medical School, Plymouth and Exeter University, and is the founder and director of Kamdaris Training in Devon.

Angela Trainer
MA FBSCH
Principal, Scotland
Angela graduated from Glasgow University in 1980 with a degree in Psychology. She specialises in obsessive compulsive disorders (OCDs), the eradication of unwanted habits, women's issues, and the successful treatment of eating disorders. Angela is Stress Management consultant to several large corporations and regional authorities and has her own radio programme - 'Alternative Answers' - in Glasgow.

Maggie Chapman
D.Hyp, PDCHyp, FBSCH
Director, Academic Assesments
She studied pschology and sociology and completed her studies in clinical hypnosis with the LCCH. Maggie now runs successful private practices in Wimbledon, Barnes and Central London. She co-ordinates internal assessment processes for the LCCH, as well as lecturing extensively throughout the UK and with LCCH International. Her area of clinical expertise is with the effects of trauma, sexual and substance abuse. She is also a Member of the Executive Committee of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
